Detailed Itinerary
Day - 1 - Destination abroad to Delhi
Leave for Delhi
Day - 2 - Delhi
Arrival at Delhi International Airport. On arrival at Delhi Airport
client(s) will be received by our representative, and taken to the hotel.
After lunch proceed for a half-day tour of New Delhi visiting Qutab Minar,
Humayun's Tomb and India Gate (War Memorial Arch). Also drive past the
President's House, Parliament House & Connaught Place shopping centre of
New Delhi. Overnight at your hotel.
Day - 3 - Delhi
After breakfast we take you for a tour of Old Delhi visiting Red Fort,
Jama Masjid & Raj Ghat. Also drive past Chandni Chowk the shopping
centre of Old Delhi. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at your hotel.
Day - 4 - Delhi to Jodhpur
In the morning proceed to the airport for your flight to Jodhpur. On
arrival check in at Hotel Ratnada Palace. In the afternoon visit the the
magnificent Umaid Bhawan Palace and then the15th century fort which stands
on low range of sandstone hills. Overnight at your hotel.
Day - 5 - Jodhpur to Osian
After lunch drive to Osian Village from where we start the Camel Safari. On
arrival you will be introduced to your camels & their attendants. Dinner
& overnight at the tents.
Osian is a small township of 65 kms. from Jodhpur. The place is renowed for
the cluster of ancient temples scattered on either side of the main road.
The very approach to this spot is picturesque, through a few hillocks admist
the brown sandy stretch, dotted by scattered hamlets with thatched roofs &
ochre-coloured mud walls.
Day - 6 - Start of the Camel Safari
After breakfast you begin your camel safari. Packed lunch will be served
en-route. After covering a distance of about 16 to 18 kms. we put up tents
for dinner and overnight stay. Tents are usually located at a distance of 2
km from the nearest village.
Day 07 - Day 11 - Safari
After breakfast continue the safari.
Route - It is sandy terrain with sparse vegetation & trees at longer
distances. Patches of grass are observed along with bushes. Scattered
hamlets are seen, people living by the side of their agricultural farms.
Camels & cattle are a common sight. Women clad in colourful attires
sometimes carrying water in earthen pots add to the attraction of the
safari. At intervals, one finds tiny ponds which are essential for cattle &
people. You also come across other animals like black buck, Nilgai and
Chinkara. Migratory cranes too are seen in large in numbers. You will also
see partridges, quails, the Great Indian Bustard (a rare and spectacular
sight) and peacocks.
En-route, you will be guests of Bishnoi village leaders. You will observe
Bishnoi temples & life around them in utter still atmosphere of desert.
The Bishnois respect nature & wildlife & lead a spartan life. The
Bishnoi people have earned a high degree of respect & record for
themselves by virtue of their extreme dedication to preservation of flora &
fauna.
Eveningt- Camp on the desert. After a warm welcome to your individual tents
you rest for a while. Later in the evening it is time for folk dances, folk
songs cocktails & dinner by campfire.
Day - 12 - Arrive at Jaisalmer
By afternoon we reach a place called Lawan. From here Jeeps/Coach will pick
you up & drive to Jaisalmer. Rest of the day is free. On arrival check
into Hotel Narian Niwas. Overnight stay at your hotel.
Day - 13 - Jaisalmer
Morning - free to rest. After lunch visit the hilltop fort & the
ancient Jain temples dating from the 12th century. Overnight at your hotel.
Day - 14 - Jaisalmer to Bikaner
After breakfast drive onto Bikaner arriving in time for lunch at the
Lalgarh Palace Hotel. Bikaner was founded in 1488 & like many Rajasthani
cities is surrounded by a high wall. In the afternoon visit the fort &
Palace. Overnight stay at your hotel.
Day - 15 - Bikaner to Jaipur
After breakfast drive onto Jaipur visiting Amer Fort en route. On arrival
check-in to Hotel. Overnight stay at your hotel.
Day - 16 - Jaipur
After breakfast take a tour of Jaipur. Visit Hawa Mahal known for its
intricately carved out windows . Also visit the City Palace & Jantar
Mantar observatory. In the evening enjoy a an elablrate Rajasthani dinner..
Overnight stay at your hotel.
The Dinner starts with a Royal Welcome to the group at the Palace which is
beautifully illuminated. Amidst elaborately adorned elephants and horses,
after a royal welcome the guests are presented with Rajasthani Turbans.
Rajasthani folk dances & folks songs are organised, as dinner is served
in Royal style with Barbeque & cocktails. In the end there is a
spectacular show of fire works.
Day - 17 - Jaipur to Agra
After breakfast we leave for Jaipur, stopping en- route at old Mughal
capital of Fatehpur Sikri. Arrive at Agra in the evening & check- in to
your Hotel. Overnight stay at your hotel.
Day - 18 - Agra to Delhi
Early morning visit Taj Mahal. After breakfast visit Fort & Bazaars.
In the afternoon drive to Delhi. On arrival we escort you to airport
for departure and onward journey.
